I was more poking fun at the people who are bitching about him taking it way too seriously, but getting all up in arms about it because they find it so important.

Optimization issues. Gameplay issues. Graphical issues. Minigame issues. Clipping. Overpowered spots. Getting places where you aren't supposed to. Visibility issues. Missing textures. Unintended 1 way walls. Missing minigame controls. Cluttered Props. Cluttered brushwork. Just to name a few. When I'm playtesting, I'm looking for all of these and more. I don't want people that won't help me on my map, wasting my time I could spend actually finding and fixing bugs.

Yes but those are the same issues that could and would still arise if you hadn't gone through the application process. The application process takes more time than typing /ban player, I promise.

I mean, your map, do whatever you want. It's just a lot of wasted time.

I don't think banning people for exploits that the mapper did not take the time to iron out is a good idea. It would partially be the mappers fault. What if someone accidentally discovered something?

I'm talking about your private server for map testing. Invite whoever. Ban people if they start making trouble. More players means more likely to break your map.

Idk though. Like I said, your map, do whatever the hell you want.

I have said this before but I will say it again. 2-5 days before I give Striker the final bsp, I will do a public playtest for everyone that wants to join. Public playtests early on would take a lot of time for me, which would be better spent creating basic things that are important. Like minigames.

Frosty I don't think you understand there are at least 4 or 5 people already play testing for this map. He's not waiting for the applications to be finished to start the private play testing. We've already found things (unintentional) that could be fixed. I think having an open version will be a great idea for later on when he's ready to release the map to striker. What he's doing is fine, he wants this map to be great and you guys are acting like what he's doing is wrong. If anything all maps should be done this way, less bugs, less problems on the server.

I was just kidding before I recant my post because I don't want to be involved with the butt jelly. Knowing what I put in my application I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't pick me!

but yeah he can definitely do whatever he wants
