One way wall?

#1
So on papas_kingdom, some of the secrets are one wall walls and you cannot shoot through one side no matter how hard you try. The UMP secret above cells is one way. If you shoot directly on the area where the UMP is, you cannot penetrate it. Can someone help me not make it one way?

So you're saying the wall can be shot through from one direction but not shot through from the other?  My first thought would be to check that the wall uses the same material on both sides.  I believe bullet penetration is based on weapon used and also material surface type the shot enters through

It is invis on one side and brick on the other. I can show you. I have a server with the map on it. You can shoot through invis but not brick.

You pretty much confirmed exactly what he just said lmao.

There are a few different ways of making a textured wall bangable. Do you want the wall to absorb any of the bullet impact? Or do you want it to act as if it wasn't even there, but still not let the player through?

We figured it out but what would you have done to not get any damage drop off and block the player still?

I would have made the textured wall basically a false wall, and then surround it by a player clip so players couldn't get through it.

Yep this is how we solved it.  1 invisible wall, and 1 copy of the original on a non-solid func_brush

player clip? wouldn't that mean that they can still throw weapons through?

Yep. I do not see an issue with this... it might even be better. It is invis right now but might player clip it.

I believe there are separate clip materials for bombs and grenades, probably one for weapons too
