I'm pretty much the main manager of Swoobles. I try to keep things running smooth for all of our members. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming but the community has a ton of great members that love to help out.

I was introduced to Half-Life back in 1998 by one of my best friends. When the CS beta came out my friend found out about it and we would play it at his house all the time since my computer couldn't handle it. A few months or so later I got a new computer that could actually handle the game. So about 3 days later of downloading patches at 2 kilobytes a second and getting kicked from the internet every time we got a phone call the game was finally up to date! I was ready to play Counter-Strike with my friend.. or so I thought. Apparently a dialup connection of 22,000 bps wasn't so hot to play Counter-Strike with. I had about 350-400 ping in almost every server and for a game like Counter-Strike this wasn't going to work very well. Luckily I was about to find out about a mod that I didn't need to rely on good ping to have fun in. In one of the Half-Life patches a mod called Team Fortress Classic came with it. As soon as I tried TFC I was instantly hooked. Unlike CS I didn't have to rely purely on my internet connection to get kills. A couple years later we finally upgraded to a cable internet and I could play CS without lagging like crazy. When Steam came out everyone I knew was really against it and wanted to stay on WON. I moved to steam for CS and stayed on won for TFC until WON finally shut down for good. I actually remember when steam first came out there were some pretty funny glitches with the new tactical shield. You could use a pistol with your shield up or have both a shield and rifle. A few years after that CSConfused came out which I actually didn't like very much at the time so I stuck with 1.6 and TFC. Just last year 2 of my friends from TFC (nyro and qr) got me into the CSConfused minigames maps. After I was introduced to minigames it's pretty much the only thing I've played (on both CSConfused and CS:GO).

And that's my history of how I ended up here!

One question did you ever get mad at dial-up sounds?
